What it is

Overview

Devin Desktop addresses the challenge faced by developers who work with multiple AI coding agents across different projects and workflows. Before this tool, developers had to juggle separate interfaces for each agent, losing context and coordination between tasks. The platform targets professional developers and engineering teams who rely on AI agents for complex coding projects.

Kimi K2.7 Code and GLM 5.2 have been available in Devin Desktop and CLI for a few days, but wanted to announce it here too! NEGATIVE reddit

Agents are useless for complex work, that is why Cursor beats all of the other stuff. It’s magic for people who can already code because of the predictive tab completions that remove the repetitive work. Probably saves 2-3 hours every day for full time engineers.

NEGATIVE reddit

One caveat is that GLM 5.2 here context is 200k instead of 1M .. but other than that , speed is pretty decent. Kimi 2.7 however does feel lagging behind GLM model, but great for UI tasks.

POSITIVE reddit

I used GLM all day today, and was very happy with it. Give it a try!

New plan is very very rediculous man, im user from day windsurf launch and now this new quata based pricing seriously very frustrating also i have existing additional token credits purchased that money showing in my account as Extra usage balance available: 16$ and now today i checked its 3$ and now just entering two proimpt my balance is now -1$ how? and again i purchased 5$ usage and just enter continue to previous broken task then immeditely after one file change it staopped saying:Failed pre

This love-hate relationship finally got me tired lol. I've been a long time user, and I left after the token policy changes. Then Cognition dropped Devin Desktop with local Devin support. And holy shit, that's exactly what I've been asking Windsurf for ages: subagents and parallel subagents. I burned through my $20 quota in what felt like a few seconds. So I upgraded to the $200 plan just to test it. Used Sonnet 4.6 Medium for basically a day and somehow nuked my entire weekly quota 😅 Then I we

I see or saw a lot of hype around Devin and also saw its 500$/mo price tag. So I'm here thinking that if anyone is paying that then it better work pretty damn well. If your salary is 50$/h then it should save you at least 10 hours per month to justify the price. Cursor as I understand has a similar idea but just a 20$/mo price tag. For everyone that has actually used any AI coding agent frameworks like Devin, Cursor, Windsurf etc.: How much time does it save you per week? If any? Do you often ha

Hey everyone, I’m posting this out of deep frustration, hoping someone from Windsurf.com finally notices, or at least to warn others who may be considering the platform. My account (username: zoohero) was suddenly locked 3–4 days ago, and I’ve been completely unable to log in ever since. The only thing I get is this error: This happened out of nowhere — no prior warning, no indication of any policy violation. I immediately submitted a support ticket and followed up via email. I just wanted to make sure this got mentioned as this sub has descended into a cesspool of a departure lounge after the branding change. You can GPT what ACP is technically, but it’s essentially a standardized protocol that agents and harnesses can use. In the Devin Desktop announcement, one under-celebrated addition was bidirectional ACP support. So, for users of OpenCode, Codex, Claude (even Pi), this update allows you to use the same Devin chat interface (formerly just Cascade) to communicate

Hi, am I the only one with a weird problem after migration from Windsurf: Terminal Panel in the bottom used to be full-width, now it's narrow right under editor tabs. If I switch off Secondary bar (where the agent is running) and panel on the right, the bottom terminal panel expands to the right. It seems that secondary panel now have some kind of priority to be always full-height - can this be adjusted? I'm on latest macOS. UPD: confirmed, VS Code Handles Customize Layout-Panel-Justify correctl

Questions

Frequently asked

What is Devin Desktop?

Devin Desktop is a unified IDE and command center for managing multiple AI coding agents across local and cloud environments. It allows developers to coordinate different AI agents working on various aspects of a project while maintaining shared context through features like Spaces and Git worktrees. The platform combines a full-featured IDE with debugging tools, code completion, and agent management capabilities.

Is Devin Desktop free?

Yes, Devin Desktop offers a free plan with light quotas, limited model availability, unlimited inline edits, and unlimited Tab completions. Paid plans start at $20/month for Pro (with access to frontier models and cloud agents), $200/month for Max (higher quotas), and team plans starting at $80/month plus $40 per developer seat.

What makes Devin Desktop different from other coding environments?

Devin Desktop's key differentiator is its Agent Client Protocol (ACP) that enables coordination between different AI agents and models working simultaneously on a project. Unlike traditional IDEs, it provides a Kanban-style Agent Command Center where developers can manage multiple coding agents while maintaining shared context through Spaces, allowing for true multi-agent collaboration.

What is the Agent Command Center?

The Agent Command Center is Devin Desktop's unified interface for managing multiple AI coding agents, presented in a Kanban-style view of all active tasks. It allows developers to create, deploy, and coordinate both local agents (running on your machine) and cloud agents through Devin Cloud while maintaining oversight of all agent activities from a single dashboard.

What are Spaces in Devin Desktop?

Spaces is a feature that allows sharing context and Git worktrees across different AI agents working on the same project. This ensures that multiple agents can collaborate effectively by maintaining shared understanding of the codebase, project context, and development history, preventing agents from working in isolation.

What programming languages does Devin Desktop support?

Devin Desktop supports multiple programming languages through integrations with language servers including rust-analyzer, clangd, and gopls. The IDE provides syntax highlighting, debugging tools, and autocomplete features across these supported languages, though the exact full list of supported languages isn't specified in the available information.

What platforms is Devin Desktop available on?

Devin Desktop is available as a web tool and on Mac. The platform supports both local agents that run on your machine and cloud agents through Devin Cloud, giving users flexibility in how they deploy and manage their coding agents.

What development tools does Devin Desktop integrate with?

Devin Desktop integrates with popular development and project management tools including Slack, Linear, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket. These integrations allow the platform to fit into existing development workflows and enable seamless collaboration across different tools and platforms.

What is Supercomplete in Devin Desktop?

Supercomplete is Devin Desktop's predictive code completion feature that anticipates developer intentions and provides intelligent code suggestions. It works alongside the platform's other AI-powered features to enhance coding productivity and accuracy while developers work with their managed AI agents.
